The AEROTECH range · designed in Vence

A1 The school wing Premium Access™

The passive safety and simplicity of a true school wing, built on an architecture advanced enough to take you well beyond your training: all the way to your first thermals, your first cross-country kilometres and your first SIV course.

EN/LTF A certified3 sizes, take-off weight 55 to 125 kgFrom first inflation to first SIV
Your first wing is probably the most important choice of your progression.

It is the wing that will be with you for your first inflations, your first high flights, your first thermals, your first cross-country kilometres and, why not, your first SIV course. The A1 was designed exactly for that.

Like every AEROTECH product, it is developed according to the Premium Access™ philosophy: product quality first, and the best value for money thanks to a completely rethought business model.

The designer's notes

My ideal school wing

Pierre-YvesDesigner · AEROTECH, Vence

“The A1 is probably the wing that best represents my vision of a beginner paraglider. After more than twenty years devoted to paraglider design, to teaching, and today to inspecting, repairing and servicing hundreds of wings in our workshop, I wanted to create my ideal school wing.

A wing reassuring enough to accompany a student from their very first day of training, yet progressive enough to keep teaching them something several hundred flights later.”

Architecture

A design without compromise

The A1 is built on a particularly ambitious platform for an EN A wing: solutions usually reserved for “A+” category wings, deliberately toned down to remain reassuring.

Clean profile

42 cells and mini-ribs on the trailing edge: a particularly clean profile for the category.

Elaborate internal structure

Diagonals and compression straps: the wing keeps its shape and behaviour as the hours add up.

Damping winglets

The winglets naturally damp roll and yaw: a wing that is easy to recentre in thermals and very tolerant of mistakes.

Only 3 sizes

Very wide weight ranges that cover practically all pilots, and make life easier for schools.

In flight

Confidence first

Progressive inflation, natural lift-off, consistent behaviour across the whole certified weight range. The brakes offer plenty of travel to forgive mistakes, while keeping the precision needed to learn active piloting and thermal centring.

  • While learning: fly in the lower part of the weight range for even more damped behaviour.
  • As you progress: move up the weight range, or take the smaller size, for a more dynamic wing without losing passive safety.
  • The ambition: a companion for your progression all the way to your first cross-country flights and your first SIV. Not a wing you replace after a few dozen flights.
In the field

Designed for schools… and for students

The A1 was first developed to meet the needs of our own school. Every detail makes life easier for instructors and students alike, because a good school wing must also make everyday teaching easier.

3-riser architecture

A simple layout, instantly identifiable, even under stress at take-off.

Wide 20 mm straps

An excellent grip to handle the wing with confidence from the very first sessions.

Simplified big ears

A dedicated riser lets you pull big ears quickly, with no hesitation about which line to grab.

Teaching colours

The leading edge / trailing edge contrast lets the instructor identify the wing's orientation from a distance, right from ground handling.

Materials & construction

Built to last

Durability guided every one of our technical choices. Our goal is simple: for a wing to keep its behaviour, its handling pleasure and its passive safety qualities for as long as possible.

Porcher Industries + MJ-Tex fabrics

The most stressed areas use Porcher fabrics exclusively, renowned for their dimensional stability and resistance to ageing. Less stressed areas receive a carefully selected MJ-Tex: optimised weight and cost, uncompromised reliability.

Oversized lines

Lower lines in Edelrid aramid, upper cascades mainly in Liros Dyneema: a large safety margin, favouring stability and longevity over the outright pursuit of performance.

AEROTECH exclusive Shark Nose

A single Nitinol rod combined with a specific Dacron reinforcement: the profile geometry is preserved over time, without the friction points of multi-rod designs.

It grows with you

The risers are designed to accept rear riser control handles, supplied in the accessory kit. Deliberately not fitted as standard, you install them the day you want to discover rear riser piloting.

Colours

Colours that teach

Three colourways in the 2026 catalogue, plus custom colours. Even the colour choice follows a teaching logic: the contrast between leading edge and trailing edge makes the wing's orientation readable from a distance, from the very first ground handling sessions.
